Bailey (NSW)

Bailey was sadly surrendered to DRA as she was no longer able to be kept with her owner living in her nursing home. Covid restrictions followed by the NSW flooding had meant that Bailey was unable to be taken to the groomers or vet. She was spending all her time in her owners room sitting under her chair. Doing her business inside was a potential tripping hazzard for staff and management decided that she had to leave ASAP. Bailey settled into her new home without any issues at all. She has had a much needed dental, a well earned pamper session and her hair is now manageable and glossy. The very pretty Bailey is also on her way to a healthier weight after dropping 500 grams.

Below is a poem written for her much loved Bailey by her previous owner, Judy.

Morning Walk

I take my dachshund for a walk
I cannot stop to rest or talk
She's on a trail with scent so strong
I'm just a burden she drags along

She darts here, she darts there
I cannot imagine what's caught her stare
She has no fear as she follows thru
The bracken, thorns and brambles too

She disappears upon the trail
And all I see is her wagging tail
For who could know what prowls by night
Only my dachshund whose in for a fright!
