Archie was a sad puppy who was left at home for long hours without company.
Fortunately for Archie he was surrendered to DRA, and after attending to all his veterinary work, a new family was found with a special bonus as they also owned Juno, a lovely dachshund of a similar age. This committed family drove 18 hours to meet Archie and to bring him home where he recently celebrated his first birthday.
Archie’s days are no longer lonely, but are full of fun, play, walkies, and he has also made friends at a local doggy group. His face is full of joy, which we think says it all.
We are self-funded with veterinary bills running into the thousands and rely solely upon dachshund lovers like yourself to help meet our expenses. Any contribution, large or small, will be very much appreciated to allow us to continue our work with dachshunds in need.
Any donation over $2 is tax deductible and you will be issued with a receipt.

Thank You For Your Generosity!
Bella had lots of people to thank in her journey to her forever home with Jenny.
Bella's owner had passed away, she was left in the home and people were leaving food for her. A kind Dachshund Rescue supporter, who saw her plight and gave her caring foster carer.
How confused and sad she must have felt.
DRA attended to her veterinary procedures in foster care.
She has been welcomed by a lovely fur sister called Maisy the girls are spoilt for choice, beds galore chasing the sun.
Bella feels loved and safe in her new home. It's a delight to see.
Every dollar you donate to the Dachshund Rescue Australia helps ensure we can provide the necessary care for any dachshund in need of re-homing. We are a registered charity so all monetary donations above $2 are tax deductible.
Dachshund Rescue Australia is a nationwide community of supporters and volunteers passionate about making a difference to the lives of dachshunds in need and keeping them out of harm’s way. Dachshunds come to us for various reasons from strays and shelters, to changes in their owner’s life that may include the death of the owner.
Whatever the reason, we take dachshunds in with dignity from those surrendering them and without judgement. We are dedicated to ensuring every dachshund in Australia has a safe and loving home.
Thank you so much for your support!
