 A summer Loving girl,  Needing a Forever Home.

At 10 years, Cookie is proof that age is just a number. This beautiful girl still has plenty of love to give and is searching for a home where she can enjoy all the things she loves the most , sunny spots, tasty treats, pottering around and curling up under a blanket with her favourite people.

Cookie came into her current home after being adopted from the pound just five months ago. She has been dearly loved and cared for, but unfortunately she and the resident senior female dachshund have decided they both want to be queen of the castle. Her owners have made the difficult and selfless decision to find Cookie a new home where everyone can be happy and relaxed.

Despite this, Cookie gets along beautifully with the younger dachshund in the home and would likely enjoy having a younger canine companion to cuddle up with and share her days. One of her favourite things is snuggling under a blanket on the lounge with her doggy friend and her humans close.

Cookie has blossomed during her time in foster care. With a nutritious diet, she has gained healthy weight, her coat is now glossy and shiny, and her confidence continues to grow. She loves her crate, sleeps  through the night, and happily retreats there for a midday siesta,  In fact, if given the opportunity, Cookie would happily snooze most of the day!

Like many dachshunds, Cookie has a few hobbies that make her who she is. She loves digging, enjoys announcing important neighbourhood events with a bark or two, and adores finding a warm patch of sunshine where she can stretch out and soak up the rays. A secure yard is essential, as Cookie enjoys exploring and following interesting scents, but she also loves having access to the comfort of indoors.

We believe Cookie would thrive in a quieter home without small children, where she can enjoy plenty of affection, companionship, and of course, treats. She walks beautifully on lead and is ready to become someone’s top girl, Cookie has lived a country life and wouldn’t adapt to apartment living, she will most definitely need a garden.

Cookie is sweet, affectionate and would  fill your home with warmth, personality, and unconditional love.
