Elsie & Josie 2 years 8 months B&T & Chocolate smooth Miniature Dachshunds

Sister duo Elsie black and tan and Josie chocolate 2 years 9 months are two peas in a pod they have a very close bond and are never far from each other’s side so a home together is a must. Both have big hearts and although sisters they have opposite
personalities.
They are seeking a mature age single / couple who are happy spend their time pottering around the home.
Elsie and Josie would thrive on a larger property or acreage away from the hustle and bustle of the city life with the luxury of an indoor / outdoor lifestyle where they have the freedom to explore the yard and hunt for bugs but most of all do what this breed does
best and sun-bake the day away.
They don’t think much of toys as they prefer the company of each other, daily zoomies and ruff and tumble together is their favourite game to play or following there humans around like shadows.
Being the homebodies, they are they are quite accepting of being left at home for short amounts of time together and much prefer staying away from any social setting, they happily stay home and take on the role of guarding there surrounds seriously.
While they aren’t lovers of toys, they are very food oriented and enjoy food games such as kong wobblers, snuffle mats and lick pads for special treats or on days that they might be home alone.
The girls are also accepting of supervised quick swims in the river or dam to cool off on those hot days.
The girls are currently co living with two dog friendly cats and are welcoming of them but a home without small animals or other dogs would be best.
Pats, cuddles and tummy rubs are welcome any time of the day but ending the day with a warm lap to cuddle up next too on the couch watching tv before they happily curl up in their own bed together for the night is a routine they love.
Elsie and Josie are crate trained and when asked will put themselves to bed inside and sleep like a dream all night not making a peep till the morning when breakfast and toilet calls.
Due to Josie’s anxiety and Elsie’s need to protect her sister they are most happy being homebodies. With a big enough property there need to be walked on a lead together isn’t needed.
They do have some basic off lead recall training but are best suited not to be in situations where they would come to be in-contact with other people or dogs due to Josie’s reactive behaviour

Elsie
Elsie is a little pocket rocket full of energy and outgoing with confidence who is eager to please and takes all the attention you can give her and gives love tenfold in return. She would continue to do well with her training with a handler willing to put in the time.
she is mastering her marker word ‘yes’ but can get distracted by her sister needing to check in. she is very food orientated, food is her life. Elsie will let you know and vocalise that’s its breakfast / dinner time or outside toileting is needed.

Josie
Josie is a sweet girl with a lot of love to give to but is very anxious around unfamiliar people or anyone who gets too close to her safe space and has a history of reacting associated with her fear and anxiety. Josie not only needs her sister but will need a special patient owner who will be not only be understanding of her timid nature but can help build her confidence and form a
special bond with who she can trust. To whom she feels safe with Josie will be the first to find a hand lower enough to get
any chance of getting some attention weather that be either a belly rub or pats she will be there. She seeks out her sister Elsie and is the instigator of a game of rough and tumble play but lazing the day away is Josie’s ideal day.
Josie will be shy about letting you know if she needs to be let out for her business but regular trips outside or access to outside on her own has means that she hasn’t had to many mistakes inside.
