Four-year-old
bonded pair, Finnley and Juno urgently needed to find a new home when their mum’s
life circumstances changed dramatically. Luckily DRA was able to step in and within
a couple of weeks (and after a 10 hour round trip!) the dynamic duo found themselves
living in their forever home. Their new mum and dad are a very experienced
dachshund family, who had recently lost the last of their three senior doxies
and had a dachshund-sized hole in their life, which desperately needed to be
filled.

Finnley
and Juno now live in the country, creating chaos and being time wasters and
court jesters for their parents, who are home most of the day and are endlessly
devoted to their new pups.

Princess
Juno (June Bug) pretty much runs the house, deciding when everyone gets up
(because yes, they sleep in the bedroom), and when it’s time to eat, sunbathe
and cuddle (Juno cuddles like a boa constrictor, complete wrapped around her victim's or throat and has been known to cut off air supply). She also has the very
important jobs of supervising mum’s horse riding and keeping the feed shed free
of rodents.

Finnie
has two power settings full on and full off. He is obsessed with the big red ball
and has become a star soccer player. He has also been known to grab the lead
line and take the horses for a walk! He is so energetic and athletic that he is
getting booked in for agility classes in the new year. They also have lots of
space to play zoomies and plenty of toys and balls to play with and destroy.
And they’d also like to note that the meals and treats are top notch too!

Mum
and dad are working through some typical dachshund issues around insecurity, nervousness,
separation anxiety and some fear aggression. But with patience, clear routines,
training and lots of love they are making great headway.

The
whole family are deeply grateful to Karan from Dachshund Rescue Australia for
helping them find each other and filling all their lives with love, joy and dachshund
mayhem. And also, to Finnley and Juno’s former mum, who made the incredibly
