Frank is a loving dachshund seeking a new home where his owners aren’t away for extended periods. He has always lived with other dogs, so a household with another dachshund or small dog companion would be ideal. Frank thrives in a home familiar with dachshunds and their unique personalities, and he needs a family with time to help him with his nervous reaction towards large dogs, particularly those that approach him off-lead unexpectedly.

Frank adores cuddles and is happiest when playing with his favorite squeaky toys or a ball. He’s also well-trained and enjoys his walks, especially when praised and rewarded with treats. On-lead walks are his specialty, and he can go off-lead in safe, dog-free areas like a large park or beach. While he keeps to himself around people on walks, he responds well to attention and affection.

At night, Frank sleeps comfortably in his bed near the bedroom or in the laundry. He’s adaptable, enjoying a brief snuggle in bed when adjusting to new surroundings but happily returns to his own space when asked. Frank is house-trained and enjoys spending time in the garden, soaking up the sunshine.

Since his brother Otis has been away, Frank has shown some anxiety when left alone, but a home with another small dog and a loving family will help him feel secure. A companion and a caring environment would make the perfect home for Frank.
