Maggie: 8 mth, Islington, N.S.W

After suddenly losing our much loved rescue dachshund Milli last year, we were very much missing her love and cuddles. Our house seemed so quiet and empty. So after 10 years, we approach DRA again for another opportunity to give a little girl a forever home.

I am very glad to say we were lucky enough to be offered Kiwi (now Maggie) a little 9-month-old chocolate Dachshund. It was love at first sight for all of us. But just as a dachshund typically does, she initially barked at us. Then it was all cuddles and kisses from there on. Once at home, Maggie explored the house and yard and then settled in as though she had lived here forever. That night she just curled up in her bed and we never heard a peep from her until the next morning.

My wife and I are not the only ones that are in love with this little girl, our little granddaughters are just as much in love. They are constantly asking to go and see Maggie, who is always excited to greet them by bouncing and running circles around them ready to play.

The last 2 weeks with Maggie has just been so wonderful. As we are both retired, we can spend the days with her ensuring she becomes familiar with her new home.

We would like to thank Maggie's first parents for effort they put into training her, she is just perfect with only a little work to be done at the doggie parks.

Lastly I must give a very big thank you to Andie (DRA) for giving us the opportunity to give Maggie a new forever home, we will be forever grateful!
everyone at D.R.A are overjoyed with this happily ever after. ax
