We had a applied for a couple dachshunds, had a meet and greet with one. Those just weren’t meant to be.
I got a phone call about sweet little Peaches, and it was all systems go and I picked her up the next day. The process of adopting Peaches from start to finish was fantastic. The volunteers care so much about each and every dachshund. They are empathetic to the people rehoming and the families wanting to adopt a new dachshund. Peaches had previously had some separation anxiety and were willing to do what needed to be done to help her settle in with us. She has no issues at home alone now. She’s got a bestie at home with her (our 8yo Rottweiler) our rotti was starting to slow down and Peaches has put the spring back in her step.
The communication with the DRA volunteers is fantastic, it was a great process. They are on top of everything and communicate effectively.
Peaches loves to be involved with everything we are doing. If it’s a trip the farm or going down the slip and slide with the kids. She’s perfect little addition to our family after losing our last dachshund in early 2023.
