Winston – Qld
7 month old WInston had not had the best start to his puppy life, where he was kept in a room on his own while his new owners worked. He then developed severe separation anxiety and was given up by his owners three times, before the last call was made by the vet who said no more. Poor Winston, puppies can't be expected to leave their Mum and litter mates and find themselves in a room on their own while owners work. However, it is becoming increasingly common that the dogs' interests and well being are not taken into account.
Winston has now got a new best friend in the form of another dachshund, Paul. He and Paul do the occasional day at doggy daycare where he gets to play with other dogs and the social intereaction that they so badly need. When he and Paul are at home, they chase each other around the garden using up all their energy before finally finding a lap to collapse in. He is "an absolute delight, a dear little dachshund and part of the family".
