Dudley 3 (central coast nsw)
"Dudley is a different dog to when he arrived. He enjoys socialising at the occasional doggy daycare playtime and gets on really well with Fred. They are inseparable, always playing throughout the day and following each other everywhere. It's great to see his personality shine bright after shrugging off his anxiety."
Penny & Tuppence (18m) # bonded pair NSW
Penny and Tupperance's elderly owner was in care resulting in her needing to re-home them. These sweet sisters were a bonded pair and really relied on each other. We are extremely happy they found their forever home. A lovely big back yard and owners with lots of time to shower them with love. The girls took a bit of time to settle in, the family had lots of patience, a great outcome for the pair!
Axel – Glenroy – VIC
Not surprsingly, now that Axel has been removed from a stressful home due to a neighbour leaning over the fence and constantly antagonising him (and then complaining to the council about his barking) he has thrived in his new environment. It was extremely sad with many tears flowing that Axel at only 16 months of age needed to be rehomed for this reason but he had become anxious and on constant alert trying to protect the ones he loved. Axel has now got another two furry siblings and plenty of room to run around and play with not a neighbour in sight. He lives in a rural setting with a B&B and he welcomes new guests with perfect manners (after a few excited barks). In his new environment Axel is a happy and relaxed dachshund living his best life.
Frank & George: Langwarrin VIC
After loosing our georgie after 15.5 years we were resolute about not getting another dachshund, 2 months later we were both desperately wanting another one. Then our new boys came up on the DRA website, it was love at 1st sight. We picked them up on the 30th of December and its been truly wonderful. They are adorable, crazy, loveable and have brought joy into our home. One is a clown who loves nothing better than to play with you all day. The other is a sook that is only happy if he is right beside you. They are beautiful boys and a credit to their former owners whom obviously loved them as we do.. DRA and Andie were fabulous to deal with and most helpful with answering questions and helping with the process. We can't imagine being without our two men... a home without a dachshund is just a house! --
Saint: Royson Park S.A
We are so lucky DRA chose us as Saint's new family. It was such an easy process and we fell in love with him at the meet and greet.
He settled in from day one. He loves bellyrubs and snuggling on the couch with us. Saint loves to people watch from our front window.
He loves his playdates with our sons sausage Camber . They love to run around the backyard barking at birds.
Saint also loves walks and a Bunnings trip.
He is the sweetest little man and we love him to bits.
Thankyou for everything.
Carol and Graham.
Beanie (2) melbourne
Beautiful Beans family were unable to keep her, moving home and difficulty with housing. They enlisted DRA to find her forever home. Bean is a bundle of energy. She has found her forever home with another DRA buddy Kelly. It hasn't been smooth sailing for Marg and Tony, Bean loves her new owners a tad too much and howled the house down when they went out on errands. Time and patience Beanie has improved. She adores her walks around Dingley village exploring her new neighbourhood. The resident cats, Kelly and Beanie all keep each other company and live in harmony. Bean has taken her job as a hound seriously, hunting a rat in the back garden under the tank stand. We are forever grateful for the network of dedicated owners that continue to welcome dachshunds like Beanie.
Snapple (6) & Puzzle (7) Ballarat Vic
Snapple and Puzzle found themselves in need of a home urgently. We are forever grateful for Bridget, Marcus and Hugo for stepping in and going above and beyond at short notice. Not to many dachshunds that would welcome two new intruders into their bed and share their toys and mum. DRA arranged their desexing and vaccinations to start their new life. The search was on to find this lovely natured pair there forever home. An animal loving retired couple with lots of room came forward to adopt. A road trip to collect snapple and puzzle to come home and meet the other animals. They have adapted very well, love the horses and resident rescue cow.
DRA have recieved regular updates on them and they are thriving, Georgina and Ron take them out daily walking.
Bodhi
Bodhi is such a gorgeous dog, his previous owners requested that we find someone extra special who will love him as much as they do. Bodhi's new owners are devoted dachshund lovers and have said how lucky they feel to have been able to adopt Bodhi. Bodhi has a mature older sibling at home but he goes to work a couple of days a week and is able to get down and do zoomies and play all day with the other dachshunds there. He loves being out in the backyard and snoozing on his mat whilst the BBQ is cooking. What a life!
