Mavis – QLD

At only 11 weeks of age Mavis - Now Bella came into DRA for rehoming as she was distraught being left alone for long periods.  At first meeting with her new big brother Buddy there was lots of excitement and very little sleep was had that night!  Bella has now settled into her new life and Buddy's obsession with Bella is starting to calm down a bit.  Their days are spent playing non stop and then crashing for their naps in their own matching crates which have been placed opposite each other so that they can keep each other in their sights.  As Bella is still so young, she is yet to discover the big wide world outside her new home, but we know that she is going to thrive with Buddy by her side.  Thank you to Bella's new owners for stepping up so quickly to collect her and welcome to the wonderful club of "DRA Failed Fosters"!

Just a bit of an update on the beautiful Willow Girl Willow is settling in quite well from the moment we pulled up in the driveway it was as if she new she was home getting excited then firstly do a brief check of the front yard & then she headed for the backyard where she spent time exploring sniffing until the time came to meet her new brother both where curious and excited to me they were very respectful of each other's space & have grown closer in the days to come, from the backyard Willow took herself inside & after briefly checking out her new home she went into the bedroom onto the bed & claimed her sport lol & this is now her sport,Willow is a very happy & joyful girl she spends her days playing with toys the squeaky one seem to be her favourite & she gets very excited when her new mum plays to she also go exploring with her brother & take naps in the numerous beds & fluffy blankets around the house she loves her food & at the end of the day to snuggle in for a cuddle on the lounge with everyone,we are extremely happy & grateful she has come into our lives & are very much in love with her, her brother is also a much happier boy now to. Willow foster cares where lovely & we are grateful they where able to care for her in-between us picking her up they also passed on what they where able to learn about her in there short time she stayed with them for example how she travelled in the car when they picked her up this was very helpful. Willow first Mum also left a note to let us no a little about Willow & some of her favourite things, there are lots & lots of fluffy blankets & fluffy bed all around the house which Willow mum said she loved & she has tested out all of them. Willow is doing great she has settled in well she is a joy to have around she loves to lay on the deck in the sun ???? adventure in the yard an snuggle in her beds or on the lounge with everyone as well as playing with her toys a long squeaky one & a pink bone are her favourite at the moment. We have learned Willow knows the sit commandment & is very good at going out for the toilet. We would just like to say a very big thank you to DRA & everyone that was involved in bring Willow into our lives. Yogi : Parkdale (Melbourne)

Yogi has found a beautiful loving home. John, Belinda, and older kids Hayden and Meghan wanted to give their much loved little mini Dachshund Dougal a little brother. When they saw Yogi had experienced IVDD years ago and Dougal earlier this year they knew they could provide a quieter life. Both instantly got along. There were some settling in challenges, Yogi has a very loud bark for his size hehe But John is working with him and already seeing some behavioural changes. Thank you John and Belinda for opening up your home to this little rascal. Andie

Albert – Adelaide

Albert came in for rehoming, his owners wanting to improve his home life. He was a very anxious boy his anxiety was debilitating to his owners making them house bound. The search was on for a suitable forever home that was going to tick all the boxes to ensure Albert's long term success. We are thrilled now Albert has his brother Robbie for the company, Shelley and Con have seen huge improvements with Albert. It's rewarding to see Albert respond so well to his new routine, his transformation is a work in progress. Albert now enjoys leaving the house to walk, trips in the car and be rewarded with scenic picnics. He has found his loving forever home.
