Bangers and Mash – QLD
Sadly little Bangers and Mash's elderly owner went into care and we were approached to see if we can find a home where these little dogs will be adored and treasured as much as they were previously. We knew it had to be an extra special home, so we were delighted when a mature age couple with a lot of love and time to give submitted an application and on the meet and greet it was an instant match. Bangers and Mash are now living the island lifestyle and have daily beach walks and have made friends with the French Bull Dog next door. To sum it up, the new owners have said they couldnt imagine life with out these two now!
Terrence – Sydney
Terrence arrived at his new home rather anxious and underweight. With his new DRA rescue siblings Paulina (who is now quite elderly) and young Franklin (who was rehomed last year) to help show him the way, Terrence has adjusted smoothly into his new life A few visits to the vet and Terrence is now in the best of health and at a perfect weight. Terrence and Franklin have worked out the hierarchy between them and the boys are happy to play, walk and travel in the car together with Paulina never too far away supervising their activities. Thank you once again to his wonderful new owners who have now adopted 4 dachshunds from DRA over the years!
Kevin 3 & George 2 Hawthorn (Vic)
Kevin and George have stumbled across the perfect family to now call home. With older human siblings and an attentive Mum and Dad will make sure the boys will never go without a walk, a play, and a cuddle. They had some settling in and kept Dad on his toes. But eventually both have managed to wrap him around their little paws. Walked daily. His owner tells me they have quite a discerning taste with food. they love fillet steak haha A great result for two very well loved pooches.
Benny & Loki – WA
Best buddies Benny and Loki have found their forever home.
DRA attended their vet work to send them on their way.
Both boys are very active Adam is extremely happy they have settled in.
They have both enjoyed their regular walks.
The boys are a great company for each other and this has certainly assisted in getting them settled.
Frank – Age 1 – WA
This beautiful boy, Frank came into DRA as he was suffering from severe separation anxiety being left alone all day. Dachshunds love to be with their owners and sometimes it seems 24 hours a day isn't long enought for them to be with their loved ones. Luckily for Frank, he is now in his ideal home with an active retired couple who are home most of the time. Frank and his new sister Poppy play well together and enjoy spending time in the garden sunning themselves.
Dapple: Greensborough (Melb)
Angie and Matthew are so thrilled with their new addition Dapple. He has fitted into the family with ease. A brother for our much loved Lola. Dapple has given them a beautiful new personality that is funny and entertaining, as well as kind and affectionate. Lola and Dapple love walks, playing with the ball, water fun and just hanging out with family. They are blessed that this little dog came into their lives.
Don 1 year 11 months (melbourne)
Dons family had to move home to care for a relative. Don had been a well cared for young boy. When DRA was looking for a home we hit the jackpot. Mildred and family had applied for numerous dachshunds, often they weren't suitable to go with children. Finally we had a perfect match with Don, he loves children and other dachshunds. Don now has a rescue sister Valentia to share his family with. This gorgeous pair have scenic spots to explore in parkland close to home. Don has continued to thrive in his new home, it's joyful to see
Dons former owner has received updates, and is very happy to see him so happy.
Bubbles – WA
10 year old Bubbles (who doesn't appear to have one grey hair!) has been successfully adopted by a wonderful lady who is now a valuable member of our Failed Fosters. Membership to this club comes with it's rewards and we know that Bubbles will provide lots of loyalty and love for her new owner. Bubbles came into DRA with a thyroid condition which is now managed well with medication. Bubbles has a new older feline sister and a furry cousin called Lulu who likes to visit.
Suds – (WA)
Suds (now known as Fritz) is a lucky boy who is now the proud dachshund of two very experienced owners. Fritz enjoyed his walks but like some dachshunds, was barking and lunging at the other dogs and humans that he came across. Soon after arriving at his new home Fritz had a much needed nail clip and started his training. We know that it's not always an easy fix but with time and patience it can be done. Fritz's new owners are there for him and luckily are prepared to put the effort in. Being a smart boy who is eager to please we know that Fritz will thrive with his new family. Thank you to his owners and all involved in helping Fritz find his forever home.
