🌼 Daisy Dachshund (2) Sydney
🌸🌸 We recently adopted Maisie (was Daisy) from DRA and couldn’t possibly be happier! She has settled in almost instantly and formed the most gorgeous bond with her older brother Eddie straight away.
We spent a lot of time wondering whether we should adopt another dachshund and had previously applied but been unsuccessful; however, as soon as we saw her profile on Facebook, we knew we had to apply! She has absolutely flourished in the past few months, and it has been just wonderful to watch her become more and more confident and happy every single day.🥰
When we first adopted Maisie, she was very shy and anxious, but having another confident dog already has provided her with a lot of comfort and confidence. Maisie (and Eddie) couldn’t be more adored by their family and have been the biggest support through some health battles. Dachshund Rescue Australia made the adoption process smooth and easy and were very supportive through Maisie’s initial transition into our home. We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to provide Maisie with her forever family!
Augustus (12 weeks) sydney
Adopting our little Gus man was completely unexpected. We’d spoken many times about adding another dog to our family, but never quite took the next step. Then my partner spotted Gus on the Dachshund Rescue Australia website, and instantly we knew he was meant to be ours. From the moment he came home, Gus slotted perfectly into our family and lifestyle, as if he’d always been here. He has brought so much joy and love into our home, and we couldn’t imagine life without him.
A huge thank you to the amazing team at DRA for giving these little doggies a second chance ❤️
Franklin (Peanut) 5 years old Victoria
I’ve just put together a couple photos of peanut for you. Thank you for giving us this beautiful boy. We get greeted with a couple excited nervous wees but that’s about it the worst of it. He’s so well behaved and he takes me for a run so he’s super fit. He’s winning hearts everywhere he goes. I’m sure you’ll be happy to know that he’s in a safe and loving home for the rest of his days 😊
Jasper (2yr 8mths) Warrandyte VIC
"Jasper has settled in remarkably well, within a week to 10 days if we're honest. He's quite intelligent and picked up our family's lifestyle very quickly. Quirk wise, he's definitely a Dachshund, loves barking at imaginary objects, something his older brother from another mother Aston, has never done. He's been to a couple of local Aussie Rules footy matches and in true Dachshund style, loves searching for scraps. It's a fulltime job keeping him away from footy food 😁. He does love to flip his bed over and sleep on the underside too.
We were conscious to make sure Jasper knew that Aston is No1, and although he's closed that gap pretty fast, there is still a pecking order. They love going for walks and playing with Aston's toys together and just really getting along very well, we can't be happier.
And as far as Carolyn and I go, we just adore the little guy. We fell in love from the moment we met to be honest. Our family unit including our kids and their dogs, just love Jasper, he's made our home better than we thought was possible.
We both want to thank Dachshund Rescue, but most especially you Jess, from the bottom of our hearts for matching us up with Jasper. You made the whole process seamless, and coordinating meeting with Jasper's owner was well handled under obviously very trying circumstances for them."
