Buddie (6) sydney

Beautiful buddie has been welcomed with open arms by Charity and family. Buddie has the most gorgeous temperament. He now has Asha a little sister to chill with. This snugly boy, had some wonderful foster carers that went above and beyond for him. Unfortunately Buddies owner was unable to continue to care for him, a team member stepped up at short notice and transported him and his friends. His resilience shown through, he wasn't the least bit faxed by the upheaval. He took to the new scenery doggie friends and daily walks with ease. Sprinkles (18months) cessnock nsw**

My successfully re-homed story is coming very soon

Remi (4) Lithgow nsw

Beautiful Remi came to DRA via Orange Pound. Fortunately we were able to get him in with our experienced foster carers Ted and Kylie. This dear boy had been discarded and had untreated epilepsy. He came along leaps and bounds with his foster carers. Often his table manners left a lot to be desired. He had never been an indoor boy. Over the months in care, We had a wonderful team of vets assist with his treatment and levels of medication. This once troubled boy is now thriving. He will continue on medication for life and have ongoing vet care with DRA. Now Remi is officially adopted his foster carers we're also delighted to see him so happy with his new brother Basil. We thank Emily from Orange, for looking out for this little guy. He is a special one, that's touched many hearts along the way.

Arti, 1yr 3mths, NSW.

Arti has found his new home with a retired couple who were keen to adopt a dachshund that was cat friendly. Arti has fit the bill perfectly, and is now living a wonderful life where he the apple of their eye. Arti is walked every day down along the waterfront and has had a personal fitting for a winter coat at Petbarn which he proudly wears on his walks. Arti makes them laugh with his crazy antics with their toys and we are thrilled that Arti has bought so much joy and love into their lives. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog!

MABEL, 2yrs, Melb, VIC.

Mabel came to DRA quite stressed and anxious, although very keen to closely bond with anyone who was keen to shower her with love and affection. Some dachie owners are in the fortunate position of being able to take their dogs to work, and Mabels new owner now brings his dachie Marlo and also Mabel into work with him most days. To say they rule the roost we think is an understatement! Sweet Mabel is starting to really come out of her shell, and Marlo is also settling into sharing the spotlight now. She is up each day at the crack of dawn and out for their daily walk, then they all head into the Office.(oh, and if you are ever needing new tyres, Missy Mabel and Marlo are hanging out now at Kumho Tyres in Dandenong South...no doubt you will be welcomed with the typical dachie bark and maybe a dachie cuddle)

Slinky (5and a half) Chocolate standard smooth boy- Victoria

Slinky has finally found a wonderful home after a bit of a false start. He needed a thorough health check and some dental work before going to his new home, but despite his shaky start, Ian and his family decided that they were prepared to accept his imperfections. Ian writes "We decided to stick by him, not only did he need us but I think our family needed him. We were ready for another sausage after our girl daisy passed away on new years eve . Fast forward a few weeks of caring for him properly and also receiving a lot of support from dachshund rescue this little guy is living his best life . He is totally settled in and is so affectionate. He loves being with everyone of us , he's enjoying 2 walks a day and also loves spending time with the other 2 Wieners in the family who are my wife's parents dogs both previously rescued through dachshund rescue. His teeth are now clean , his skin has improved greatly and he had a scan on his heart and it isn't as bad as first thought." Thanks to Ian and his family for giving this lovely boy a second chance. After a successful meet and greet Otis soon settled into his new home . His new owner writes " Just would like to take the time to thank Dachshund Adoption, so professional and easy to talk to.
