Otis, 4yrs 11mths, Bris, QLD.

Good things come to those who wait, that is very true for Otis. Otis is a bundle of joy who took a bit of time to adapt to his new home and sister who is also a rescue. But with time he has become a very welcome addition to our home. He provides boundless energy and endless entertainment. His new sister Honey also took time, to adjust to sharing the attention. But now finds solace in Otis. Waiting for his next adventure she is always ready to follow his lead. We often find them having play time, moments recharging in the sun. We all look forward to more adventures together!

Marceline (3) perth

Marceline came from a loving home but had to be re homed due to fighting with the other dog. We had recently lost our precious sausage dog Milo after 10 years and our hearts were broken. Marceline came at the right time with her bubbly nature and filled our hearts and home with love. She is such a big part of our family now and we cannot imagine life without her 😊

Simba (4) Victoria

First of all we would like to take this opportunity to thank Dachshund Rescue Australia. We would also like to thank Simbas precious owners who made the hard and selfless decision to re-home Simba Simba is the king of the new home His backyards is one of his new favourite places were he can lay in the sun to his heats content with his new owners watching him from different rooms in the house or from the patio. If there is no sun outside Simba does not mind with serval sunny spots inside with the sun coming through the windows. If he is not on someone’s knee he is guarding his new home from his bed! Or finding a toy to play with! At night Simba as made himself at home taking over the bed with his humans. Enjoying short walks with dad and coming home to belly rubs from mum! What more could you ask for! If anyone is thinking of adopting a dachshund we would not hesitate to recommend the process! The love and joy you will receive will be worth it!

Dougie & Bowie S.A

A heartfelt surrender. With the owner prioritizing the welfare of her two beloved Dachshunds they came in for re homing. Their adopters are very experienced Dachshund owners previously adopting an older pair. In the short period of time the pair are responding to the family's routine. There is a little bit of work in regard to basic manners, but the outlook is indeed sunshine and rainbows. we are DRA couldn't be happier for this union.

Cindy Worrowing Heights

this is indeed a happy tale/tail. Cindy Lou came in for rehoming in quite a bit of a rush. Thankfully our network within the re home coordinators gave me a good foster home for Cindy to have a soft landing, little did we both know it was a perfect match and Cindy has now joined the family permanently. From the very beginning Cindy had eyes for the human lady of the house. She is thriving. Sometimes Fosters are foster fails. Regardless we are grateful that we have some beautiful people to call on in an emergency.

Milo (4) melbourne

This delightful dachshund has truly blossomed thanks to the unwavering kindness and patience of his adoptive family. Once needing a little extra care, Milo has transformed into a joyful companion who's embraced his new life with vigour and happiness. Milo's journey to health wasn't without challenges—he required a few vet visits to recover fully, including a check-up to clear an anal gland infection. With a clean bill of health, Milo was able to integrate seamlessly into the life at his new countryside home. It's here that Milo's sweet and gentle nature has truly shined, much to the delight of his family, who are amazed at how well he has settled into their lives. Sharing his abode with George the kelpie, Milo has found a happy dance of companionship and friendship. His world is filled with love, exploration, and adventure. Recently, he even embarked on a camping trip during the school holidays, soaking in all the joys of the outdoors with his new family. With children to play with and the companionship of another pup, Milo finds every day to be a new adventure and joy. His story is a testament to the wonderful impact a loving, patient family can have on a dog's life, and he radiates this love back to his people. For anyone looking to adopt a pup in need, let Milo's journey inspire you—his sweet demeanour, loving spirit, and vibrant life is the perfect reminder of the happiness that awaits in rescue adoption.
