Mila (6) Sydney

Have to say first, I have had dachshunds since I was a child decades ago - but Miss Mila is really different . Besides being beautiful and loving she is the most stubborn animal I have owned - or has owned me. She suffers badly from separation anxiety which is okay because we are home most of the time - but when we leave the house it is heartbreaking - she howls and howls. I keep hoping she will grow out of it and realise we are never away long - just shopping etc. Fortunately my son and his wife have moved back from the US and can’t have a dog right now - so she is perfect ,suited to long runs and trips out. So I would have to say this adoption has worked out well for us all - so thank you. We both adore her and every night she sits on husband’s lap while he watches TV. At bedtime she sleeps in her bed next to my bed - so happiness all round Jennifer Macdonald.

Mabel, Adelaide/SA

We are over the moon to share that lovely Mabel has found her forever home, and it’s everything we could have hoped for. Mabel, our deeply devoted little dachshund, came to us needing a very special kind of human—someone calm, gentle, and completely in tune with her sensitive soul. And she found just that. Her new mum is everything Mabel needed: a loving homebody who understands her quirks, celebrates her quiet nature, and offers the one-on-one companionship Mabel thrives on. Whether they’re enjoying leisure walks together or relaxing in the garden. Mabel is soaking up the sunshine, the treats (yes, there’s plenty of cheese and chicken on hand!), and most of all, the love. She has blossomed into a confident, happy girl—playful on her walks, relaxed at home, and never more than a paw’s reach away from her favourite person. We are so thankful to Mabel’s adopter for opening her heart and home to this beautiful girl. Knowing Mabel is safe, settled, and cherished is everything. #HappyTails #AdoptedAndAdored #DachshundRescueAustralia #ForeverHomeFound #RescueSuccessStory #DachshundLove
