Napoleon’s Happy Ever After
Some dogs just know when they've found their forever people and for Napoleon, that moment came the day he trotted into his new home like he owned the place (blanket in tow, of course). This spirited little dachshund, once searching for the perfect match, has landed exactly where he belongs—with a loving, experienced family who adore every bit of his bold personality and boundless energy.
Napoleon’s new humans ticked every box on his wish list—and then some. With a large, secure backyard to zoom around in, daily bushwalks, a steady supply of squeaky toys, and a cosy lap waiting at the end of every day, he’s living the dachshund dream. He even gets his favourite treat: a weekly puppycino at his local café, where he now struts in like a celebrity (and yes, the baristas know his name).
His new family understood that Napoleon came with a few quirks—some dog reactivity, a little anxiety in unfamiliar situations—but they’ve embraced it all with patience and love. With the help of a gentle trainer and a consistent routine, Napoleon is building confidence every day. Walks are calmer, his tail wags more often than it trembles, and he's learning that not every dog is an enemy and not every jogger is a monster.
When he's not adventuring outdoors, Napoleon can be found burrowed under a mountain of blankets on the couch, happily snuggled up next to his favourite people. He still has that cheeky sparkle in his eye when he plays fetch (and refuses to bring the ball back), and his family wouldn't have it any other way.
Napoleon didn’t just find a home—he found *his* people. And for a dachshund who once waited for the right fit, he's finally got everything his little sausage heart desired.

We have had ten months now with our cheeky mini dachshund Nessie, and she’s more entertaining than ever! This tiny girl is absolutely convinced she’s a big dog trapped in a little body—she struts around with total confidence and leads the way on every adventure.
Her daily walks with our big, athletic chocolate Labrador Charlie are the classic "little and large" duo and never fails to stop passers by who regularly pause to laugh and smile at the size difference as Nessie marches along, matching Charlie all the way with her tongue hanging out to the side and boundless energy for every sniff.
Nessie truly is a little ray of sunshine, you can’t help but smile watching her dart here, there, and everywhere with that happy, carefree spirit. She is also incredibly well-behaved and super smart.
We had just a couple of toilet accidents right at the start (completely understandable in a brand-new home), but she picked up our routine incredibly quickly plus us learning to read her subtle cues. Because of her tiny size, those cues are very small (blink and you’ll miss them!), but once we tuned in, Nessie has been perfectly house trained ever since.
Nessie also has the appetite of a much larger dog too (which we keep firmly in check to preserve her sausage silhouette!). Nessie has settled in brilliantly, claiming every corner of the house ( if she could) and turning the garden into her personal playground.
We are very grateful to Dachshund Rescue Australia for bringing this joyful, hilarious character into our lives. If you’re thinking about adopting a dachshund, I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Arthur, our sweet and gentle boy from South Australia, has found his perfect forever home! After patiently waiting for just the right match, Arthur has joined a wonderful family made up of three loving adults and he couldn’t be happier.
As the only pet in the home, Arthur is getting exactly what he has always dreamed of: all the cuddles, attention, and devotion he could ever want.
His new family instantly fell in love with his affectionate nature, his soulful eyes, and his quiet, loyal heart. Arthur now spends his days soaking up endless pats, enjoying peaceful strolls, and curling up on soft beds, always close to his new favourite people.
It’s clear Arthur has found his place where he is truly cherished and understood. His family says he has settled in beautifully, and it already feels like he’s been part of the family forever.

Sweet Norah and Cleo, the inseparable dachshund duo, have found their perfect forever home — together!
These two little best friends captured many hearts while looking for their special place, and we are thrilled to share that they have now settled into a wonderful home filled with love, cuddles, and endless adventures. Their new family instantly fell in love with their playful personalities, their gentle natures, and the deep bond they share.
Norah and Cleo have quickly made themselves at home, exploring every corner of their big, secure backyard, napping side by side in sunny spots, and enjoying cozy evenings curled up on the couch. They now spend their days going on leisurely walks, playing with their favorite toys, and showering their new humans with affection (and receiving plenty of belly rubs in return!).
