Bennie Sydney

Bennie’s tail never stops wagging. From the moment he stepped paw into his forever home, he knew he had found something special. His new family welcomed him with open arms, and best of all—he had a new best friend, a gentle and playful Border Collie. The two became inseparable from the start. They raced across the backyard, tails flying, playing endless games of chase. The Border Collie, ever watchful, kept an eye on Bennie, while Bennie, the ultimate cuddler, nestled into the fluffy fur of his new companion for naps. They shared toys, treats, and even the same sunspots and beds Car rides became their favorite adventure. The moment the car door opened, Bennie leaped in, with his new friend right behind him, both ready for the next great journey. Whether it was a trip to the park or just a drive to pick up treats, Bennie beamed with joy, his golden coat shining in the sunlight. Surrounded by love, companionship, and endless cuddles, Bennie had finally found his perfect place in the world—and a forever friend to share it with.

Toddler Winston, NSW

A Perfect Match for a Playful boy Winston, the playful and snuggly dachshund with a heart full of love and a crooked smile to match, has found his forever family – and it’s everything he dreamed of and more! From the moment he stepped into his new home, Winston felt like he belonged. His new family, including two children who adore him, were ready with bubbles in hand, welcoming him with his favorite game. He wasted no time zooming around the backyard, chasing bubbles and tail-wagging with delight. True to his beach-loving self, Winston now enjoys regular trips to the coast where he can dig in the sand to his heart’s content. He still avoids the waves but happily supervises from the shoreline, tail wagging and nose in the breeze. Evenings are Winston’s favourite, snuggled up under his blanket after a day of play, with his head resting on his new mum or dad’s shoulder. He’s been learning to play gently and is thriving with consistent love, structure, and gentle guidance. Though he was once shy around other dogs, Winston is now making new doggy friends with confidence. His new family has committed to supporting his training, giving him time to grow and feel secure. Winston’s crooked smile beams brighter than ever, a perfect symbol of his resilience and the joy he brings. He is finally where he belongs – loved, cherished, and home. 🐾💛

Danny (18 months) Sydney region

"Danny came to DRA needing a fresh start with a family that would help him to relax, decompress and be a dachshund again. He is a very nervous little guy and needs to develop trust. There have been some trials and tribulations so far, but he is intelligent and eager to learn. His foster carer, Lisa, did a great job along with her lovely family of older dachshunds showing him the way. Danny's adoptive family are experienced dachshund owners who are showing him a lot of love and patience. He is gradually fitting in with his new friends and routine. Socialising and trust are the next bridges to cross" warm regards, Janine & Colin
