Lily – Sydney
Lily is a beautiful dachshund and is the apple of her new owners eyes. After a few restless nights getting used to her new dwelling and sleeping inside, she now sleeps quite soundly enjoying the warmth in her new comfortable, cosy bed. Lily is a great walker and likes to accompany her owners to the many local parks and cafes for the morning coffee run. Lily spends her days keeping her owners company whilst they work from home and also likes to spend time in the garden where she has her favourite spot in the sun to sunbathe.
Daisy, 8yrs, Syd/Lithgow, NSW.
Miss Daisy was recently adopted by a couple who had decided that now was the right time, after they fell in love with Daisy on our site. Their recent update to us makes us think that this is certainly a success story! "Daisy is a smart, affectionate and stubborn little dog who makes us laugh with her side glances and antics. She is going for 1.5km walks daily which will be increased. Daisy has quickly learnt how to used the doggie door but at this stage is still reluctant to be out and about in the big yard without her hooman. However she is a great gardening sidekick, a sniffer of many smells, finder and muncher of tasty pigs ears and sleepy sunbather. Thank you for letting us adopt Daisy. She is a real presense and wonderful addition to our lives"
Mabel : 1yr 7mths OSBORNE PARK W.A
Mabel has found the most loving retired couple. They are very well versed in the Dachshund breed. They love taking Mabel on long beach walks. The house is noisy again. Mabel works very hard by day looking after the house and manor, making sure she is vocal when someone knocks on the door. At night she has two very welcoming laps to snuggle into.
From the initial conversations with Kevin he was so understanding and accommodating an absolute pleasure to find them a furbaby to love and adore. thank you ax
Willow Grimshaw 3 Perth WA
Willow is a gorgeous and much-loved rescue dachshund. She has a sweet and gentle nature, and loves nothing more than cuddling up with her new family on the couch for some companionable time. Willow was rehomed due to being anxious around the baby at home. She wasn't living her best life. Her parents made the brave decision to come to DRA for help. Willow is slowly adjusting to her new surroundings, and has taken quickly to the playmates she's gained in her brother and sister Dash and Honey. Willow's adoptive family are overjoyed to have her as part of their lives, thankful to DRA for helping bring this special pup into their home. Special thanks go to Coby and family for welcoming another rescue dachshund. With plenty of love and care, Willow will continue to thrive and enjoy her forever home!
Sooty – Brisbane
Sooty was looking for a new family as his owner had to move interstate and was unable to take him with her to her new home.
He soon found his new home on a lovely property with 4 human kids, a Beagle and not only new parents but also new grandparents.
There is always someone there for him and he is living a wonderful new life with other animals and a family who are at home during the week and have the time to provide him with the stimulation he needs to remain calm and to train him to become a good boy.
He loves chilling on the couch after long walks and snuggles as a lap dog whenever he gets the opportunity. He has a beautiful nature and has made a lovely pet for a family who were willing to adopt him and give him a great life.
Penny – Geelong
Penny was looking for a quieter and more mature home as she wasn't coping in a busy household and toddlers. She is a delightful little girl and is enjoying her new calm life. Penny does have some social issues and her new owners have been extremely helpful and patient whilst she settles into her new routine. Penny will soon have some intensive training to help her enjoy the simple pleasures of walking without the need to be reactive towards other dogs. We look forward to hearing about Penny's progress and are confident that she will pass with flying colours. In the meantime, thank you to her new owners for your perseverance to ensure that Penny lives her best life.
Alfie 11 months melbourne
Alfie has fitted into our family perfectly! We were looking to add another sausage as a friend for our 4-year-old girl, Missy. It only took a few days for Missy to get used to Alfie, and now they adore each other. While Missy has always been very attached to me, Alfie is more than happy to share his love and snuggles with all our family members. He loves socialising with other dogs and going on outings with us, such as the kids' soccer games and home-schooling group catch ups - as long as he is with us, he is happy. Toilet training and barking is still a work in progress, but we all love him to bits! Thank you to Karan for matching us with our gorgeous little man.
